Jesus On Justice : Living Lives of Compassion and Conviction

POSTERSKI, DON
JESUS ON JUSTICE : LIVING LIVES OF COMPASSION AND CONVICTION

It’s often hard for us to think of Christ as a radical advocate for justice, someone who bucked the religious and cultural norms of his day. Yet Jesus was indeed like this and he calls us to follow him.

In this fresh and provocative book, Dr. Posterski challenges us to look into what God’s word actually says about justice. He shows how Scripture does not provide specific directives on tax rates or legislation, for example, but instead offers powerful, justice-based principles that can inform our decisions.

As we face the brokenness of our world—human trafficking, racism, famine, and more—these principles become powerful tools. Jesus on Justice will equip you with this biblical knowledge and inspire you to action.

My Review:

A book to be read and shared. There are endless possibilities for discussion and soul-searching as Dr. Posterski  strips away the often jaded worldly views of justice to get back to the basics. He challenges the reader to action on many levels -- from within their own home to the their church and community and finally the world. Sometimes his words are controversial, even revolutionary, but they made me think and reassess my actions and reactions to many justice issues. Surely followers of Jesus need to lead the way in healing the brokenness of our world. Dr. Posterski provides thought-provoking facts and the inspiration to change.
